1 (14 1/2 oz) can tomatoes, coarsely sliced, with juice .
1 c sliced yellow onions .

1 lb lean ground beef .

6 c beef stock or broth .

Step #1 In a large soup pot over med-heat/flame, brown the ground beef with onion for about 5 mins, or until meat is no longer pink; stir this to crumble meat as you cook (add oil if needed to keep meat from sticking).
