Bok Choy (side Dish) Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar .
  • 3 tbsps low sodium soy sauce .
  • 2 inches piece fresh ginger .
  • 1/2 lemon, juice of .
  • 1/4 c water .
  • 2 heads baby bok choy, halved lengthwise .
  • 2 tbsps peanut oil .
  • 1/4 c oyster sauce

Directions
  • Step #1 Place 2 tbsps of peanut oil & heat until almost smoking.
  • Step #2 Split the piece of ginger open with a knife then whack it with the flat side of the knife.
  • Step #3 Lay the ginger pieces in the oil, cut-side down to let it start to perfume.
  • Step #4 Pan-fry the bok choy, cut-side down, for a couple of mins to give it some color.
  • Step #5 Add the water & cook another min to steam the bok choy; carefully remove it to a plate.
  • Step #6 Add the soy sauce, oyster sauce, lemon juice, & brown sugar.
  • Step #7 Cook & stir for 3 mins until the sauce is the consistency of syrup.
