Rice-paper Apple Strudels Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 tbsps icing sugar, for dusting .
  • 1-2 tbsp fresh lemon juice .
  • 4 tbsps melted unsalted butter or soy margarine .
  • 3 tbsps brown sugar .
  • 4 tbsps sliced walnuts, toasted .
  • 2 green apples, peeled cored & cut into 1/2cm slices .
  • 100 g caster sugar .
  • 8 rice paper sheets

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat oven to 220 Degrees Celsius.
  • Step #2 Combine apples, lemon juice, brown sugar, cinnamon, walnuts & 1 tbs melted butter.
  • Step #3 Line baking sheet with baking paper.
  • Step #4 Pour 6 c hot water in a bowl & dissolve caster sugar inches.
  • Step #5 Place 1 rice paper wrapper in water to soften, transfer to board & brush with extra melted butter.
  • Step #6 Divide filling in a sausage shape on one side of wrapper levaing 3cm border.
  • Step #7 Fold in end & roll up to enclose filling.
  • Step #8 Place on baking sheet seam side down.
  • Step #9 Brush top this with melted butter.
  • Step #10 Repeat for all.
  • Step #11 Bake in oven 15-20 mins.
  • Step #12 Serve warm dusted with icing sugar.
