Chimichangas Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 tbsp red wine vinegar .
  • sour cream (optional) .
  • 8 flour tortillas, warmed (10-inch) .
  • 1 lb lean ground beef .
  • 1 (4 oz) can sliced green chilies, undrained .
  • 1 tsp ground red chili pepper .
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon .
  • 1 egg, beaten .
  • 1 onion, finely sliced .
  • 1 tomato, sliced .
  • 2 tbsps margarine, melted .
  • 1/8 tsp ground cloves .
  • salsa (optional)

Directions
  • Step #1 Heat oven to 400°F.
  • Step #2 Brown ground beef & onion.
  • Step #3 Drain excess grease.
  • Step #4 Add red wine vinegar, red chiles, cloves, green chiles, cinnamon, & tomatoes.
  • Step #5 Bring to a boil, reduce heat & let simmer uncovered 15 mins.
  • Step #6 Spoon 1/2 c of the meat mixture into the center of each tortilla.
  • Step #7 Brush the edges of the tortillas with the beaten egg to seal.
  • Step #8 Fold the tortillas over the meat mixture to make a square bundle.
  • Step #9 Brush each chimichanga with melted margarine.
  • Step #10 Place on non-stick cookie sheet with seam side down.
  • Step #11 Bake 10-12 mins until lightly browned & heated through.
  • Step #12 Top with salsa & sour cream (optional).
