Cherry Bombs Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 c butter, softened .
  • 1 c white sugar .
  • 2 (16 oz) jars maraschino cherries, with stems .
  • 2 eggs .
  • 3 c flour .
  • powdered sugar, for dipping .
  • 1/4 tsp salt .
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder .
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda

Directions
  • Step #1 Drain cherries, leave in strainer over a bowl.
  • Step #2 Put the flour, baking powder, baking soda, & salt in a mixing bowl.
  • Step #3 Cut in softened butter with 2 forks.
  • Step #4 Stir thoroughly with for, continuing to cut until the mixture looks like coarse meal.
  • Step #5 Beat the eggs in a medium-sized bowl & mix with sugar.
  • Step #6 Add eggs & sugar mixture to the rest of the ingredients & stir until thoroughly mixed.
  • Step #7 Extract small bits of dought with your fingers & wrap them around each maraschino cherry, leaving the stem sticking out.
  • Step #8 Press the bottoms of the dough-wrapped cherries on a greased baking sheet.
  • Step #9 Bake at 350 for 10 mins.
  • Step #10 (Cookies will be white.
  • Step #11 ).
  • Step #12 Let the cookies cool on the cookie sheet.
  • Step #13 Then dip them in powdered sugar so only the cookie part it covered, not the stem.
