Chocolate Caramel Satin Pie Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/4 c milk .
  • 1 tsp vanilla .
  • 1 put in the fridged pie crust (from 15 oz. pkg.) .
  • 1 c white vanilla chips .
  • 2 eggs, beaten .
  • Filling .
  • 1/2 c sliced walnuts .
  • 1/3 c water .
  • 1 c whipping cream .
  • 24 vanilla caramels, unwrapped .
  • 2/3 c sour cream .
  • 2/3 c firmly packed brown sugar .
  • Topping .
  • 1/2 oz grated sweet baking chocolate, reserving 2 T

Directions
  • Step #1 Heat oven to 450.
  • Step #2 Prepare pie crust according to pkg.
  • Step #3 directions for one-crust baked shell using 9 inch pie pan.
  • Step #4 Bake at 450 for 8 to 9 mins or until light golden brown.
  • Step #5 Cool slightly.
  • Step #6 Meanwhile, in heavy saucepan, mix caramels & water.
  • Step #7 Cook over low heat/flame until caramels are melted & mixture is smooth, stirring every once in awhile.
  • Step #8 Remove from heat.
  • Step #9 Stir in brown sugar, eggs, sour cream, vanilla & walnuts; mix well.
  • Step #10 Pour into baked shell.
  • Step #11 Reduce heat to 350.
  • Step #12 Immediately return to oven.
  • Step #13 Bake an extra 30-40 mins or until edges of filling are set.
  • Step #14 Cool 15 mins.
  • Step #15 Sprinkle top chocolate over pie.
  • Step #16 Refrigerate until firm, about 2 hrs.
  • Step #17 In small heavy saucepan, mix white vanilla chips & milk.
  • Step #18 Cook over low heat/flame until chips are melted, stirring constantly.
  • Step #19 Remove from heat; cool.
  • Step #20 In small bowl, beat whipping cream until stiff peaks form.
  • Step #21 Fold in melted chip mixture.
  • Step #22 Spread over cooled filling.
  • Step #23 Sprinkle top with 2 T.
  • Step #24 resevred chocolate.
  • Step #25 Refrigerate until serving time.
  • Step #26 Store in refrigerator.
