- 2 egg yolks (reserve whites if topping with meringue) .
- 3 tbsps flour .
- 1 pie shell (baked) .
- 1 tsp vanilla .
- 3 tbsps cocoa .
- 3/4 c sugar .
- 1/2 c butter
Directions
- Step #1 Mix sugar, flour & cocoa in saucepan.
- Step #2 Add milk, then egg yolks & stir with wire wisk.
- Step #3 Cook over med-heat/flame until thick whisking often & being careful not to scortch.
- Step #4 Remove from heat, stir in the butter & vanilla.
- Step #5 Place filling in baked pie shell & cool.
- Step #6 Once cooled top this with meringue & brown or whip cream.
