Beef Mexican Casserole (um Gala) Recipe

Step #1 Saute hamburger meat, onion & green pepper.
Step #2 (It's better to start the onion & green pepper in a little oil before adding the meat).
Step #3 Drain if there is excessive grease.
Step #4 Mix the soups, garlic salt, tomatoes & Cheez Whiz & heat in a separate pan until cheese is melted & mixture is well mixed.
Step #5 Cut the tortillas into fourths.
Step #6 (My mother would fry them in some oil first but this is not necessary - just tastes better).
Step #7 Layer ingredients alternately in a greased casserole dish in this order: tortilla chips, meat mixture & soup mixture.
Step #8 End with the soup mixture last.
Step #9 You should have about 2 layers.
Step #10 Bake at 325F degrees in pre-heated oven for 30 mins.
