Chocolate Cookie Muffins Recipe

Step #1 Combine 1 3/4 c flour, 1/4 c sugar, & baking powder In a large-ish bowl.
Step #2 Cut in 1/3 c butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Step #3 Beat egg & milk & stir in theto dry ingredients just until moistened -- do not overmix! Fold in coarsely sliced cookies.
Step #4 Fill greased muffin c 2/3 full.
Step #5 For topping, mix the flour, sugar, & crushed cookies.
Step #6 Cut in the butter until crumbly.
Step #7 Sprinkle top about 1 tbsp of topping over each muffin.
Step #8 Bake at 400F degrees for 16-18 mins or until muffins test done.
Step #9 Cool for 5 mins before removing from the pan to a wire rack.
Step #10 Melt vanilla chips & shortening in a heavy saucepan over low heat/flame until smooth.
Step #11 Drizzle over cooled muffins.
