Salisbury Steak - Tex Mex Way Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 onion, sliced .
  • 1 (2 2/3 oz) package country gravy mix .
  • 1 (14 1/2 oz) can reduced-sodium beef broth .
  • 1/2 c fine dry breadcrumbs .
  • 1 lb ground round .
  • 2 tbsps taco seasoning mix .
  • 2 tbsps sliced fresh cilantro .
  • 1/4 c mild salsa .
  • 1 large egg .
  • 1/2 lb pork sausage .
  • 1 (10 oz) can sliced tomatoes with green chilies, undrained

Directions
  • Step #1 Combine first 7 ingredients & 1 tbsp cilantro.
  • Step #2 Shape mixture into 6 (1/3-inch thick) patties.
  • Step #3 Heat a lightly greased large nonstick skillet over medium high heat.
  • Step #4 Add patties, reduce heat to low, cover & cook 8-10 mins per side or until center is no longer pink.
  • Step #5 Remove from skillet, wipe pan clean.
  • Step #6 Whisk together gravy mix, broth, tomatoes with chiles & remaining 1 tbsp cilantro.
  • Step #7 Cook over med-heat/flame 1 min or until thickened.
  • Step #8 Return patties to skillet & cook, until thoroughly heated.
