Shrimp Artichoke Casserole Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/2 c milk .
  • 1 (14 oz) can artichoke hearts, drained & quartered .
  • 1 tbsp worcestershire sauce .
  • 1/4 c flour .
  • 1 1/2 lbs cooked shrimp, peeled & deveined .
  • 1/2 lb fresh mushrooms, sliced .
  • 1/4 c dry sherry .
  • 1/4 tsp paprika .
  • 1/2 tsp fresh ground pepper .
  • 1 c heavy cream .
  • 1 tsp salt .
  • 1/4 c freshly grated parmesan cheese .
  • 4 oz butter

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat oven to 375 deg.
  • Step #2 In bottom of a well-greased 1 1/2 quart casserole, place artichoke hearts & cover with shrimp.
  • Step #3 Melt half the butter in pan & saute mushrooms 6 to 8 mins.
  • Step #4 Pour over shrimp.
  • Step #5 Melt remaining butter; add flour & cook over low heat/flame 3 to 5 mins, stirring constantly.
  • Step #6 Gradually add the cream & milk, cooking until thick.
  • Step #7 Add salt, pepper, sherry & Worcestershire.
  • Step #8 Stir until smooth.
  • Step #9 Pour over casserole & top this with cheese & paprika.
  • Step #10 Bake 25 mins, until lightly browned & bubbly.
  • Step #11 Serve by itself, or stretch by serving over rice or noodles.
