Chili Cheese Grits Recipe

Ingredients
  • 3 tbsps canned sliced green chiles
  • 1 c quick-cooking grits
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 c butter or margarine
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1/2 c milk
  • 1 1/2 c shredded Cheddar cheese, divided
  • 3 c water

Directions
  • Step #1 In a medium saucepan, bring water, salt & garlic to a boil; slowly stir in the grits.
  • Step #2 Reduce heat; cook & stir for 3-5 mins or until thickened.
  • Step #3 Remove from the heat.
  • Step #4 Add butter, 1 c cheese & chilies; stir until butter melts.
  • Step #5 Beat eggs & milk; add to the grits & mix well.
  • Step #6 Pour into a greased 2-qt.
  • Step #7 baking dish.
  • Step #8 Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees F for 45 mins.
  • Step #9 Sprinkle top with remaining cheese.
