Visko's Praline Sauce Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/4 lb butter .
  • 1 c dark brown sugar .
  • 2 tbsps dark rum .
  • 1 tsp maple extract .
  • 1 c pecans, sliced .
  • 1/4 c Dark Karo syrup (corn) .
  • 1/2 c water

Directions
  • Step #1 Melt the butter in a heavy saucepan.
  • Step #2 Stir in the brown sugar.
  • Step #3 Add the Karo syrup & the water & cook the mixture over med-heat/flame until it reaches the boiling point.
  • Step #4 Continue boiling for a min, stirring constantly.
  • Step #5 Remove the pan from the heat & allow the mixture to cool slightly.
  • Step #6 Stir in the rum, maple extract & pecans.
  • Step #7 The sauce will thicken as it cools.
  • Step #8 Serve slightly warm over good quality vanilla ice cream.
  • Step #9 Should there be any left over, store it covered in the fridge.
