Halloween Poke Cake Recipe

Ingredients
  • 3 1/2 c confectioners' sugar .
  • 1/4 c milk .
  • 1/2 c butter, softened .
  • 1 c boiling water .
  • 1 (18 1/4 oz) package fudge marble cake mix .
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract .
  • 1/2 c cold water .
  • 12-15 candy corn (the little pumpkin ones) .
  • 2 (3 oz) packages orange flavor gelatin .
  • 1/3 c baking cocoa

Directions
  • Step #1 Prepare & bake the cake according to package directions, using a 9X13 baking pan.
  • Step #2 Cool on wire rack for 1 hr.
  • Step #3 In small bowl, dissolve gelatin in boiling water & then stir in the cold water.
  • Step #4 With a meat fork or wooden skewer, poke holes in cake about 2 inches apart in all directions.
  • Step #5 Slowly pour gelatin over cake.
  • Step #6 Refrigerate 2-3 hrs.
  • Step #7 For frosting, in a small mixing bowl cream butter until fluffy.
  • Step #8 Beat in confectioners sugar, cocoa, milk & vanilla until smooth.
  • Step #9 Spread over cake.
  • Step #10 Top with candied pumpkins.
  • Step #11 Cover up & put in the fridge until serving.
