Swedish Hamburgers (malda Flaskbiffar) Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/2 c margarine or butter .
  • 1 egg .
  • 1 lb ground lean pork .
  • 1 tbsp salt .
  • 2 tbsps sliced parsley (or scallions) .
  • 1/2 c water .
  • 1/2 tsp paprika .
  • 3 medium onions .
  • 1/4 tsp pepper .
  • 1 c cream .
  • 1/2 c cream .
  • 1/3 c dry breadcrumbs

Directions
  • Step #1 Soak bread crumbs & seasonings in water & ½ c cream for 10 mins.
  • Step #2 Add pork, egg & parsley.
  • Step #3 Mix well until mixed.
  • Step #4 Shape into 8 round flat patties.
  • Step #5 Melt half of margarine in large skillet.
  • Step #6 Fry patties about 4-5 mins on each side over med-heat/flame.
  • Step #7 Place on warm platter & keep warm.
  • Step #8 Peel & thinly slice onions.
  • Step #9 Sauté in remaining margarine until soft & golden about 12-15 mins.
  • Step #10 Spoon onions over burgers & keep warm.
  • Step #11 Pour 1 c cream into frying pan.
  • Step #12 Cook, stirring down the sides for about 4-5 mins until it starts to thicken.
  • Step #13 Spice up with salt & pepper.
  • Step #14 Pour over burgers & serve as soon as possible, preferably over mashed potatoes.
