Step #2 Mix two tbsps brown sugar & 2 tbsps finely sliced nuts; reserve.
Step #3 Cut the margarine into flour, 2 tbsps brown sugar, baking powder, & salt with a pastry mixer or two large knives In a large-ish bowl until the mixture resembles fine crumbs.
Step #4 Stir in a ½ c of toasted nuts.
Step #5 Stir in maple syrup, egg, & just enough milk so that the dough leaves the side of the bowl & forms a ball.
Step #6 Turn the dough on to a lightly floured surface; carefully roll in flour to coat.
Step #7 Knead lightly 10 times to coat.
Step #8 Pat or roll this into an 8-inch circle on a lightly greased cookie sheet.
Step #9 Brush with milk & sprinkle with brown sugar nut mixture.
Step #10 Cut into eight wedges but do not separate.
Step #11 Bake for 16 to 18 mins, or until golden brown.
Step #12 Immediately remove this from cookie sheet; carefully separate the wedges.
