German Style Pot Roast Recipe

Ingredients
  • 3/4 c water .
  • 1 1/4 oz dry onion soup mix (or use an onion mushroom or mushroom variety to suit your taste) .
  • 3-3 1/2 lbs boneless pot roast, either rump, chuck, round .
  • 1 tsp brown sugar .
  • 1/2 tsp caraway seeds .
  • 1 1/2 c beer

Directions
  • Step #1 In dutch overm brown roast over med-heat/flame.
  • Step #2 Blend soup mix with water & beer.
  • Step #3 Mix in brown sugar & caraway seed.
  • Step #4 Simmer on stovetop, covered 2.
  • Step #5 5 hrs or until tender.
  • Step #6 Thicken gravy if desired.
