Bacon And Balsamic Vinaigrette Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2-4 tbsps olive oil .
  • 6 slices bacon .
  • salt & pepper .
  • 1/2 c red onions, sliced .
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar .
  • 1 tsp brown sugar .
  • 2 tbsps balsamic vinegar

Directions
  • Step #1 Slice bacon into 1/2 inch pieces & fry until just crispy.
  • Step #2 Drain on paper towels.
  • Step #3 Remove bacon from pan, & all but 2 Tbsp of the bacon fat.
  • Step #4 Gently saute the onion until just soft, making sure not to brown.
  • Step #5 Add the brown sugar, mix in & then add the vinegar.
  • Step #6 Reduce for a min or two.
  • Step #7 Add the olive oil, as much as to your taste & the salt & pepper to taste.
  • Step #8 Cool, but do not put in the fridge.
  • Step #9 Dress your salad just before serving.
  • Step #10 Serve this warm or at about room temp over a salad of hearty greens like romaine.
  • Step #11 I usually add some very finely sliced red onion rings, mushrooms & homemade croutons, but let your imagination work here.
  • Step #12 I've thought of trying it in the summer with just onions & fresh sliced strawberries.
