My Oven "fried" Chicken And Biscuits Recipe

Ingredients
  • salt .
  • 6 pieces chickens, preferably breasts .
  • 1/3 c solid shortening .
  • poultry seasoning .
  • 1/3 c butter, not margerine .
  • pepper .
  • 1 1/2 c biscuit mix .
  • milk

Directions
  • Step #1 Put the 1/3 c of shortening & 1/3 c butter in 9 x 13 baking pan lined with foil wrap.
  • Step #2 I use solid Crisco.
  • Step #3 Put baking pan into cold oven & heat oven to 400F degrees.
  • Step #4 Meanwhile, put biscuit mix & seasonings in large plastic bag.
  • Step #5 Put one piece of chicken in bag & shake to coat.
  • Step #6 Do this for all pieces.
  • Step #7 When 400F degrees is reached remove the pan from the oven.
  • Step #8 Place chicken pieces "skin" side down in hot pan.
  • Step #9 Bake for approx 35 mins.
  • Step #10 Meanwhile, using the bisquick left in the bag, add enough Bisquick & milk to make a recipe of biscuits per directions on box.
  • Step #11 You can make drop or rolled biscuits.
  • Step #12 When the time is up on the chicken, remove the pan from the oven, turn the pieces over & CROWD them over to one short side of pan.
  • Step #13 On other side, place or drop biscuits close together in all those gorgeous juices.
  • Step #14 Put back into oven & bake for 15 or more mins, until biscuits are done.
