Stir-fried Beef With Garlic And Pepper Sauce Recipe

Ingredients
  • 600 g steak fillets, cut thinly 2 . 5cm strips .
  • 1 onion, halved & thinly sliced .
  • 1 1/2 tsps cracked black pepper .
  • 3/4 tsp cornflour .
  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce .
  • 2 tbsps peanut oil .
  • steamed rice, to serve .
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce .
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed .
  • 2/3 c beef stock

Directions
  • Step #1 Heat wok over medium high heat until hot.
  • Step #2 Add 3tsp oil.
  • Step #3 Swirl to coat.
  • Step #4 Add onion & garlic.
  • Step #5 Stir-fry 1-2 mins.
  • Step #6 Transfer to bowl.
  • Step #7 Increase heat to high, Add 3 tsp oil & half the beef.
  • Step #8 Stir fry for 3 mins.
  • Step #9 Remove from wok to plate.
  • Step #10 Repeat with remaining beef.
  • Step #11 Blend together 1 tbsp stock & cornflour.
  • Step #12 Combine mixture with remaining stock, pepper, soy & hoisin sauce.
  • Step #13 Pour into wok.
  • Step #14 Cook stirring for 3 mins until sauce comes to the boil.
  • Step #15 Return beef & onion mixture to wok.
  • Step #16 Stir fry 2 mins until all heated through.
