Step #1 In a large-ish bowl, pineapple, stir this together potato sticks, almonds & cranberries.

Step #3 in a medium saucepan, melt candy coating & shortening over low heat/flame.
Step #4 or melt candy coating in a microwave oven according to pkg directions.
Step #5 pour coating mixture oven fruit mixture, toss carefully to coat --
quickly drop cookie mixture from tspoons onto a cookie sheet lined with wax paper.
Step #6 let this stand about 1 hr or until set.
Step #7 to store, place cookies in layers seperated by waxed paper in an airtight container, cover.
Step #8 store at about room temp for up to 3 days.
