Old Widow Walker's Ziploc Omelettes (omelet In A Bag) Recipe

Ingredients
  • 10 eggs .
  • 1 c hash browns (purchased & thawed) .
  • green peppers .
  • 2 c cheese, grated .
  • onions .
  • 1 c bacon, crumbled .
  • 1 c ham, sliced .
  • 1 c tomatoes, sliced

Directions
  • Step #1 Have children write their name on a quart-size ziploc freezer bag with permanent marker.
  • Step #2 Crack 2 eggs (large or extra-large) into the bag (not more than 2) shake to mix them.
  • Step #3 Put out a variety of ingredients such as: cheeses, ham, onion, green pepper, tomato, hash browns, bacon, etc.
  • Step #4 Each child adds prepared ingredients of choice to their bag & shake.
  • Step #5 Make sure to get the air out of the bag & zip it up.
  • Step #6 Place the bags into rolling, boiling water for exactly 13 mins.
  • Step #7 You can usually cook 6-8 omelettes In a large-ish pot.
  • Step #8 For more, make another pot of boiling water.
  • Step #9 Open the bags & the omelette will roll out easily.
  • Step #10 Be prepared for children to squeal with delight at their first meal they have cooked.
  • Step #11 A lifetime memory has just been served.
  • Step #12 Note: I had to fill in SOMETHING regarding cooking time, serving sizes, & amounts.
  • Step #13 This of course, depends on your situation & how carnivorous the kiddies are.
  • Step #14 I've tried to guestimate for five servings.
