Swedish Hash (pytt I Panna) Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 tsp salt .
  • 2 c sliced onions (about 2 medium) .
  • 4 c finely sliced boiled potatoes .
  • 2 c finely sliced leftover meat (or boiled ham or fried steak) .
  • 1 dash pepper .
  • 4 slices bacon

Directions
  • Step #1 Cut bacon with scissors directly into frying pan.
  • Step #2 When crisp, drain bacon on paper towels, leaving fat in pan.
  • Step #3 Add onions & sauté until golden brown.
  • Step #4 Remove from pan.
  • Step #5 Add potatoes into pan along with a little margarine if needed & fry til golden brown.
  • Step #6 Sprinkle top with salt & pepper.
  • Step #7 Add bacon, onions & meat to potatoes in pan.
  • Step #8 Mix well, carefully turning with a spatula.
  • Step #9 Serve piping hot.
