Okra Soup Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 potatoes, sliced .
  • 1 tbsp salt .
  • 1/2 cabbage, sliced .
  • 1 tbsp butter, melted .
  • 1 onion, sliced .
  • 1 (15 oz) can creamed corn .
  • 4 c water .
  • 1 (10 oz) can rotel .
  • 1 lb sliced okra (frozen ok) .
  • 1 (14 1/2 oz) can sliced tomatoes .
  • 1 tbsp sugar .
  • 1/2 c evaporated milk .
  • 1 tsp pepper .
  • 2 tbsps flour

Directions
  • Step #1 Add water, tomatoes, potatoes, onion, sugar, rotel, okra, cabbage, salt & pepper together In a large-ish Dutch oven.
  • Step #2 Bring to a boil.
  • Step #3 Reduce to low heat.
  • Step #4 Cover up & let simmer 45-50 mins.
  • Step #5 Stir together flour, evaporated milk & butter in a small bowl until mixed.
  • Step #6 Slowly add to soup & stir until thick.
  • Step #7 Add corn, mix well, & let simmer 5 more mins.
