Chocolate Lemon Cream Bars Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 c sliced walnuts
  • 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 tsps grated lemon peel
  • FILLING:
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tbsps lemon juice
  • 1/2 c butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 (18.25 oz) package devil's food cake mix
  • 1 egg

Directions
  • Step #1 In a large mixing bowl, beat the cake mix, butter & egg on lowish speed until mixd.
  • Step #2 Stir in walnuts.
  • Step #3 Set aside 1 c for topping.
  • Step #4 press the remaining mixture into a greased 13-in.
  • Step #5 x 9-in.
  • Step #6 x 2-in.
  • Step #7 baking pan.
  • Step #8 Bake at 350 degrees F for 8-10 mins or until set.
  • Step #9 Cool for 5 mins.
  • Step #10 In a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth.
  • Step #11 Add milk, egg, lemon juice & peel; mix well.
  • Step #12 Pour over the crust.
  • Step #13 Crumble reserved cake mixture over the top.
  • Step #14 Bake for 18-22 mins or until set.
  • Step #15 Cool completely before cutting.
  • Step #16 Store in the refrigerator.
