Amaretto Stuffed Croissants Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon .
  • 6 large plain croissants, sliced 3/4 open or 12 small plain croissants, sliced 3/4 open .
  • 1 1/2 oz Amaretto (1 generous shot) .
  • 6 eggs .
  • 12 medium strawberries, sliced .
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract .
  • 12 oz cream cheese .
  • 1/3 c milk or cream

Directions
  • Step #1 Heat griddle or skillet to 350°F Combine cream cheese & amaretto in a microwave-safe dish.
  • Step #2 Soften for 1--2 mins in the microwave, until the mixture is a good spreading consistency.
  • Step #3 Spread the cream cheese mixture on hte inside of each croissant & add sliced strawberries on top as if making a sandwich.
  • Step #4 Close the croissants.
  • Step #5 Mix together the eggs, milk, vanilla & cinnamon & pour this into a shallow non-metal dish (such as a pie pan).
  • Step #6 Lightly dip both sides of croissants in egg mixture & put on greased or buttered griddle, turning so all four sides are toasted.
  • Step #7 The entire process will take about 5--6 mins.
  • Step #8 Serve as soon as possible by arranging croissants on plates with remaining strawberry slices placed on top.
  • Step #9 Sprinkle top iwth confectioners' sugar.
