Baklava Wafer With Yoghurt And Lemon Honey Syrup Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon .
  • Lemon Honey Syrup .
  • 1/4 c raw sugar .
  • 50 g butter, melted .
  • 1 c walnuts, coarsely sliced .
  • 180 ml Greek yogurt .
  • 1/2 c honey .
  • 4 sheets phyllo pastry .
  • 2 lemons, juice & zest of

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat grill in oven.
  • Step #2 Take 1 sheet pastry & brush with butter.
  • Step #3 Keep sheets that you arent working with covered with damp teatowel.
  • Step #4 Place another sheet over the top of the first.
  • Step #5 Brush with butter.
  • Step #6 Repeat for all sheets.
  • Step #7 Brush the final layer with butter & sprinkle with walnuts, sugar & cinnamon.
  • Step #8 Cut the stack into 9 pieces (about 14cm x 9cm each).
  • Step #9 Cut each rectangle into half diagonally to form triangles.
  • Step #10 Place on baking tray lined with baking paper & place under grill for 3-4 mins.
  • Step #11 Keep watch as it can burn very quickly! Just until it caramelises.
  • Step #12 Cool on wire racks.
  • Step #13 To make syrup:.
  • Step #14 Combine the ingredients & small saucepan bring to the boil & boil 1 min.
  • Step #15 Remove from heat & cool.
  • Step #16 To serve:.
  • Step #17 Place 1 baklava wafer in centre of 6 plates.
  • Step #18 Top with dollop yoghurt, another wafer, more yoghurt & finally another wafer & sprinkle liberally with syrup.
