Caramel Apple Pastries Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/2 c toffee pieces .
  • 1/2 c caramel ice cream topping .
  • 3 large baking apples, peeled, cored & finely sliced .
  • cooking spray .
  • 16 sheets phyllo pastry

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat oven to 375.
  • Step #2 Spray baking sheet with nonstick spray.
  • Step #3 In mixing bowl, mix apples, caramel & toffee bits, set aside.
  • Step #4 Lay phyllo pastry sheets flat under a sheet of plastic wrap & place a slightly damp kitchen towel over plastic.
  • Step #5 Remove one sheet of phyllo & spray completely with cooking spray.
  • Step #6 Top with another sheet of phyllo & spray with cooking spray.
  • Step #7 Repeat until four sheets of phyllo are stacked.
  • Step #8 Cut the stacked phyllo into 2 equal rectangles.
  • Step #9 Spread 1/3 c of apple mixture 1 inch from a short edge of the dough.
  • Step #10 Fold in long edges about 1/2 inch, then roll, beginning with filling end, until a cylinder is formed.
  • Step #11 Repeat with remaining phyllo & filling.
  • Step #12 Place each roll on baking sheet.
  • Step #13 Spray tops of each roll with cooking spray.
  • Step #14 Bake 12-15 mins or until golden brown.
  • Step #15 Let stand five mins & drizzle with syrup.
  • Step #16 Serve with ice cream, if desired.
  • Step #17 *This makes 8 rolls.
