Crunchy Lettuce Recipe

Ingredients
  • 6 slices bacon
  • 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1/4 c sesame seeds, toasted
  • 2 tbsps white wine vinegar
  • 1 head iceberg lettuce - rinsed, dried, & shredded
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 c vegetable oil
  • 4 green onions, sliced
  • 1/3 c toasted & sliced almonds
  • 1/4 c white sugar
  • 3/4 c chow mein noodles

Directions
  • Step #1 Place bacon in a large, deep skillet.
  • Step #2 Cook over medium high heat until evenly brown.
  • Step #3 Drain, crumble & set aside.
  • Step #4 In a salad bowl, almonds, sesame seeds, lettuce, mix the bacon, green onions & chow mien noodles; toss & put in the fridge.
  • Step #5 In a glass jar with a tight fitting lid, mix the oil, sugar, vinegar, salt & pepper.
  • Step #6 Shake well & chill for 1 hr.
  • Step #7 Before serving, shake dressing & pour over salad; toss & serve.
