Dry Cabbage "subzi" Recipe

Ingredients
  • salt .
  • 5 curry leaves .
  • 1 tsp ginger .
  • 1 1/2 tsps dry coriander powder .
  • 1 potato, cubed into 1/2 inch pieces .
  • 3 tsps oil .
  • 1/2 tsp sugar (optional) .
  • 1 tsp green chili paste .
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder .
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds .
  • 1 medium sized cabbage, shredded

Directions
  • Step #1 In a pan heat the oil & crackle the mustard.
  • Step #2 throw in the curry leaves & let it splutter for 2/3 secs.
  • Step #3 Add the ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder, coriander powder, sugar & salt.
  • Step #4 Stir.
  • Step #5 Add to this the washed cabbages & potatoes.
  • Step #6 Close the lid & let it cook for 15 to 20 mins, while stirring once to avoid burning.
  • Step #7 Cook untill the potatoes are done.
  • Step #8 Serve hot with chappatis.
