Cheese Scalloped Potatoes Recipe

Ingredients
  • 3 potatoes, peeled & thinly sliced, not rinsed .
  • 1 1/4 c milk .
  • 2 tbsps flour .
  • salt & pepper .
  • 1 c grated cheddar cheese .
  • 2 tbsps butter .
  • 1/4 c sliced onions

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat oven to 350°F Fry the onion in butter until soft, add flour & whisk in with butter for 2 mins.
  • Step #2 Then whisk in the milk & cook (on medium heat) until thick & bubbly.
  • Step #3 Remove from heat & add 3/4 c of cheese, stirring until melted; season this with salt & pepper.
  • Step #4 Layer half of potatoes in a small baking dish & sprinkle with salt & pepper.
  • Step #5 Cover up with half of sauce.
  • Step #6 Layer remaining potato slices on top of sauce & season.
  • Step #7 Top with remaining sauce & sprinkle with remaining cheese.
  • Step #8 Bake, covered, for 30 mins or until potatoes are tender.
  • Step #9 (I sprinkle with a little parsley when done to add colour.
  • Step #10 ).
