Maple Syrup Korean Teriyaki Chicken Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 tsps black pepper, ground .
  • 3 c brown rice, steamed .
  • 1 c water .
  • 1/3 c maple syrup .
  • 3 tbsps dark sesame oil .
  • 1 tbsp gingerroot, minced .
  • 5 boneless skinless chicken breast halves .
  • 2 tbsps cornstarch .
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed .
  • 1/4 c soy sauce

Directions
  • Step #1 Mix the soy sauce, 1 c water, sesame oil, garlic, maple syrup, ginger, & pepper In a large-ish resealable plastic bag.
  • Step #2 Set aside 1/3 c of the mixture.
  • Step #3 Place the chicken in the bag, seal, & marinate at least 2 hrs in the refrigerator.
  • Step #4 Preheat the oven broiler.
  • Step #5 Lightly grease a baking dish.
  • Step #6 Pour marinade from the bag into a saucepan, & bring to a boil.
  • Step #7 Mix in the cornstarch, & cook & stir until thickened.
  • Step #8 Place chicken in the prepared baking dish.
  • Step #9 Basting frequently with the reserved 1/3 c marinade, broil 8 mins per side, until juices run clear.
  • Step #10 Place chicken over the cooked rice, & top this with boiled marinade.
