Chocolate Plum Pudding Cake Recipe

Ingredients
  • 3/4 c all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 c coarsely sliced walnuts
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3/4 c butter, softened
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 3/4 c whole wheat flour
  • 2 tsps baking soda
  • 1/3 c cocoa
  • 2/3 c raisins
  • 1 1/2 c white sugar
  • 2 c applesauce

Directions
  • Step #1 Soak raisins in boiling water to cover for 5 mins.
  • Step #2 Drain.
  • Step #3 Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Step #4 Grease & flour a 10 inch tube pan.
  • Step #5 Sift together all-purpose flour, cinnamon, salt, whole wheat flour, nutmeg, baking soda, & cocoa; set aside.
  • Step #6 In a large bowl, cream the butter & sugar until light & fluffy.
  • Step #7 Beat in the eggs, then the applesauce.
  • Step #8 Beat the flour mixture into the applesauce mixture.
  • Step #9 Stir in the raisins & walnuts.
  • Step #10 Turn batter into prepared pan.
  • Step #11 Bake in the preheated oven for 80 mins, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
  • Step #12 Let cool in pan for 10 mins, then turn out onto a wire rack & cool completely.
  • Step #13 Chill in refrigerator.
