German Bean And Sausage Soup Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 1/4 c beef broth or chicken broth .
  • 3/4 tsp oil .
  • 1/3 c onions, sliced .
  • salt .
  • 1 c canned cut green beans, undrained .
  • 2 tbsps fresh parsley, sliced .
  • 1/4 tsp dried marjoram (optional) .
  • 1 (15 oz) can great northern beans, undrained .
  • 6 oz smoked turkey kielbasa, cut into 1/2 inch slices .
  • 2 tsps fresh parsley, sliced .
  • 2/3 c carrots, sliced 1/8 to 1/4 inch thick .
  • pepper .
  • 1 c potatoes, cubed into 3/4 to 1 inch pieces

Directions
  • Step #1 Heat oil in a saucepan over med-heat/flame.
  • Step #2 Sauté onion 4-5 mins, stirring frequently, until tender.
  • Step #3 Add carrots, parsley, potatoes, marjoram beans & stock to pot.
  • Step #4 Spice up with salt & pepper to taste.
  • Step #5 Bring to a boil.
  • Step #6 Reduce heat to low, cover & let simmer about 15 mins or until vegetables are tender.
  • Step #7 Add sausage & green beans.
  • Step #8 Cook until thoroughly heated.
