Imbul Kiri Bath (milk Rice) Recipe

Ingredients
  • Milk Rice .
  • 2 c short-grain white rice .
  • 2 tsps salt .
  • Coconut Treacle Mix .
  • 4 cloves .
  • 3 c water .
  • 2 c thick coconut milk .
  • 1 pinch salt .
  • 2 c treacle (Coconut or Kithul treacle) .
  • 28 oz finely scraped coconut

Directions
  • Step #1 Coconut Treacle Mix:.
  • Step #2 Pour the treacle into a pot & bring to a boil while stirring.
  • Step #3 Add the Coconut & mix well.
  • Step #4 Take off the heat.
  • Step #5 Add the salt & cloves, mixing well.
  • Step #6 Set aside.
  • Step #7 Milk Rice: Put Rice & water into a pan & bring to a boil.
  • Step #8 Cover up & cook for 15 mins.
  • Step #9 Add coconut milk & Salt.
  • Step #10 Stir with handle of wooden spoon, cover & cook on low heat for another 10-15 mins (until the milk has been absorbed).
  • Step #11 Remove it from the heat & let it cool slightly.
  • Step #12 Divide the slightly cooled milk rice into two portions.
  • Step #13 On a flat dish, evenly spread out a layer of milk rice using one portion (should be at least 1 cm thick).
  • Step #14 Then evenly spread the coconut treacle mix on top.
  • Step #15 Cover up it completely (including the sides) with the second portion of the milk rice.
  • Step #16 It is important to do all this before the milk rice cools down too much as it will become too sticky to handle.
  • Step #17 Cut into blocks.
