Swiss Meatloaf Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 tsp rubbed sage .
  • 1/4 c onions, sliced fine .
  • 3/4 c swiss cheese, grated .
  • 1 c cracker crumbs .
  • 1/2 c evaporated milk .
  • 1/2 tsp pepper .
  • 1 1/2 lbs lean ground beef .
  • 2-3 slices bacon, cut into 1-inch pieces .
  • 1 tsp salt .
  • 1 egg

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat oven to 350°F Beat the egg In a large-ish bowl, add sage, salt & pepper & mix.
  • Step #2 Add beef, cracker crumbs, 1/2 c cheese & the onion.
  • Step #3 Blend.
  • Step #4 Form into a loaf & place this in a 2 quart loaf pan.
  • Step #5 Arrange bacon on top of loaf.
  • Step #6 Bake for 40 mins.
  • Step #7 Sprinkle top the remaining cheese on top & bake 10 mins longer.
