Steak Roll-ups Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/4 c sliced onions .
  • 1 1/2-2 lbs round steaks, 1/2 inch thick .
  • 3 c tomato sauce or spaghetti sauce .
  • 2 tbsps butter or margarine .
  • 1/2 c cooked long-grain rice .
  • 1/4 c sliced green peppers .
  • 1/2 c sliced mushrooms

Directions
  • Step #1 Saute onion, green pepper & mushrooms in butter until tender.
  • Step #2 Combine sauteed vegetables with cooked rice & mix well.
  • Step #3 Cut steak in 6 pieces, lb each to 1/4 inch thickness.
  • Step #4 Spread steak with rice.
  • Step #5 Roll up; fasten with toothpicks or skewer securely.
  • Step #6 Brown in 2 tbsps.
  • Step #7 hot butter or margarine.
  • Step #8 Pour off fat.
  • Step #9 Pour a little sauce on bottom of pan.
  • Step #10 Pour sauce over meat, cover & let simmer for 1 1/2 hrs or until tender.
