Mexican Cheese Dip In Bread Bowl Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 round loaf sourdough bread, can sub italian .
  • 2 tbsps butter .
  • 1 (16 oz) can del monte original stewed tomatoes .
  • 1 lb Velveeta Mexican cheese, Hot or Mild .
  • 1 small onion, sliced fine

Directions
  • Step #1 In non-stick pan, saute onions in butter till softened.
  • Step #2 Cube cheese & add.
  • Step #3 Drain half of the tomato juice & mash tomatoes, add tomatoes & rest of juice.
  • Step #4 Cook, stirring, til melted over low heat/flame.
  • Step #5 Set aside.
  • Step #6 Cut top third off bread, cut top into bite-sized cubes.
  • Step #7 Hollow out inside leaving a 1/2" shell.
  • Step #8 Cut inside pieces into bite-sized pieces.
  • Step #9 Place bread bowl onto platter.
  • Step #10 Place bread cubes around bread bowl for dipping.
  • Step #11 Pour cheese sauce into bread bowl.
  • Step #12 Serve! *You can sub regular velveeta if desired.
