- 2 lbs prunes, pitted .
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg .
- 4 c red wine or ruby port .
- 1/2-3/4 lb almonds
Directions
- Step #1 Blanch almonds by placing in bowl & cover with boiling water.
- Step #2 Let stand for 5-10 mins.
- Step #3 Drain, let cool & rub skins off each almond.
- Step #4 Stuff each prune with a blanched almond.
- Step #5 Place in saucepan & add wine & seasonings.
- Step #6 Simmer for 10-15 mins over low heat/flame.
