Mushroom Canapés Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/8 tsp hot sauce
  •  Garnishes: sliced mushrooms, fresh parsley sprigs
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 (8-oz) package cream cheese, cubed & softened
  • 2 tbsps butter or margarine
  • 1 (8-oz) package fresh mushrooms, sliced
  • 16 (1/2-inch-thick) white bread slices
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp dry white wine

Directions
  • Step #1 Melt butter in a skillet; add mushrooms, & sauté 10 mins or until liquid has evaporated.
  • Step #2 Process cream cheese & next 4 ingredients in a mixer or food processor/blender until smooth, stopping to scrape down sides.
  • Step #3 Stir in sautéed mushrooms; chill at least 2 hrs.
  • Step #4 Cut bread slices with a 2- or 2 1/2-inch shaped cutter.
  • Step #5 Spread mushroom mixture on bread.
  • Step #6 Garnish, if desired.
