Turnip Turnovers Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsps butter, melted
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1 small turnip, peeled & grated
  • 1/2 small onion, finely sliced
  • 1 (15-oz) package put in the fridged piecrusts

Directions
  • Step #1 Combine turnip & onion in a small bowl.
  • Step #2 Toss with salt & pepper.
  • Step #3 Unfold piecrusts, & press out fold lines.
  • Step #4 Cut out 30 rounds with a 2-inch round cutter.
  • Step #5 Place 1 tsp turnip mixture on half of each round, & fold the other half over.
  • Step #6 Press edges together with a fork to seal.
  • Step #7 Place on an ungreased baking sheet; brush tops with melted butter.
  • Step #8 Bake at 375° for 15 to 17 mins or until edges are lightly browned.
  • Step #9 Turnip-Bacon Turnovers: Add 4 to 5 pieces finely sliced, cooked bacon to filling mixture.
  • Step #10 Proceed as directed.
