Sticky Red Wings Recipe

Ingredients
  •  Salt
  • 3 tbsps minced fresh jalapeño chilies
  • 1/2 tsp salad oil
  • 1 c cranberry juice mix
  • 2 tsps minced garlic
  • 1/3 c sugar
  • 2 tbsps cider vinegar
  • 1 c pomegranate juice
  • 3 lbs chicken wings
  • 3 tbsps pomegranate seeds

Directions
  • Step #1 Rinse wings, drain, & cut apart at joints; reserve tips for other uses.
  • Step #2 Place remaining chicken in a single layer in a 10- by 15-inch nonstick pan.
  • Step #3 Bake in a 400° oven until brown & crisp, about 1 hr, turning pieces every once in awhile with a wide spatula.
  • Step #4 Meanwhile, in a 10- to 12-inch nonstick frying pan over high heat, garlic, & chilies until vegetables are limp, stir oil, 2 to 3 mins.
  • Step #5 Add pomegranate juice, sugar, cranberry juice, & vinegar.
  • Step #6 Bring to a boil, stirring until sugar dissolves.
  • Step #7 Boil until reduced to 2/3 c, about 15 mins.
  • Step #8 Drain & discard fat from chicken wings.
  • Step #9 Pour pomegranate sauce over wings & turn pieces with spatula.
  • Step #10 Bake until sauce thickens & sticks to wings, about 12 mins, turning pieces often to prevent scorching.
  • Step #11 Place wings on a platter.
  • Step #12 Sprinkle top with pomegranate seeds.
  • Step #13 Add salt to taste.
  • Step #14 Serve hot.
