Muffuletta Loaf Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1/2 c sliced ripe olives
  • 1/4 lb sliced pepperoni
  • 1/2 c sliced pimiento-stuffed olives
  • 2 tsps lemon juice
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • 1/4 lb sliced salami
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/4 lb sliced mozzarella cheese
  • 2/3 c olive oil
  • 1/4 c sliced fresh parsley
  • 1 (20-oz) round Italian bread loaf

Directions
  • Step #1 Combine first 8 ingredients, stirring well; cover & chill at least 2 hrs.
  • Step #2 Cut bread in half horizontally; scoop out bottom, leaving a 1/2-inch-thick shell.
  • Step #3 Drain olive mixture, & spoon half of mixture into bread shell.
  • Step #4 Top with salami, pepperoni, cheese, & remaining olive mixture.
  • Step #5 Cover up with bread top.
  • Step #6 Wrap loaf tightly with plastic wrap, & chill 6 to 8 hrs.
  • Step #7 Cut loaf into wedges.
