Davy's Gravy Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/2 tsp curry powder
  • 1 pinch cayenne pepper
  • 1 tbsp cider vinegar
  • 1 c water
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 (10.75 oz) can fat free condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • salt to taste
  • 1 tbsp white sugar
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 pinch dried oregano
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 1 (10.75 oz) can condensed cream of celery soup
  • 2 tbsps steak sauce
  • 1 (8 oz) can canned mushrooms
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

Directions
  • Step #1 In a large skillet over medium high heat, mix the ground beef & the onion & saute for 10 mins, or until the meat is browned & the onion is tender.
  • Step #2 In a large pot over high heat, Worcestershire sauce, curry powder to taste, mushrooms, garlic powder, soy sauce, mix the soups, lemon juice, steak sauce, vinegar, sugar, cayenne pepper & oregano & season this with salt to taste.
  • Step #3 Bring to a slow boil, stirring often to prevent burning.
  • Step #4 When hot, add the meat & onion mixture.
  • Step #5 In a separate small bowl, mix the cornstarch & water, & add slowly to the sauce, stirring until cornstarch is dissolved, stirring well.
  • Step #6 (Note: This will thicken the sauce so only do this if you feel it's necessary.
  • Step #7 ).
