Black-eyed Pea Con Queso Recipe

Ingredients
  • 5 jalapeño peppers, unseeded & sliced
  • 1/2 c butter or margarine
  • 1 (16-oz) loaf process cheese spread, cubed
  • 1 large onion, finely sliced
  • 2 garlic cloves, pressed
  • 2 (15.8-oz) cans black-eyed peas, drained

Directions
  • Step #1 Melt butter In a large-ish Dutch oven; add onion & garlic, & sauté until tender.
  • Step #2 Add cheese, & cook over low heat/flame, stirring constantly, until it melts.
  • Step #3 Stir in peppers & peas; cook, stirring often, until thoroughly heated.
  • Step #4 Serve with tortilla chips.
