Ingredients
1/8 tsp salt
2 c finely sliced dried black Mission figs
1 tbsp 1% low-fat milk
Compote:
2 tbsps powdered sugar
1 c water
1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
1 large egg white
1 tbsp grated lemon rind
1/2 c (4 oz) fat-free cream cheese, softened
2 (2.1-oz) packages mini phyllo shells (such as Athens)
1/2 c Marsala wine
1 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp all-purpose flour
1/8 tsp salt
1 (4-oz) package goat cheese

Directions
Step #1 To prepare compote, mix first 7 ingredients in a medium saucepan.
Step #2 Bring to a boil.
Step #3 Cover up, reduce heat, & let simmer 20 mins, stirring every once in awhile.
Step #4 Simmer, uncovered, until mixture reduces to about 1 c (about 30 mins).
Step #5 Remove from heat; cool.
Step #6 Place fig mixture in a food processor/blender; pulse 5 times or until finely sliced.
Step #7 Place in a small bowl; cover & chill in the fridge.
Step #8 To prepare tarts, preheat your trusty oven to 350°.
Step #9 Arrange phyllo shells in a single layer on a jelly-roll pan.
Step #10 Combine cheeses in a medium bowl; beat with a mixer at medium speed until smooth.
Step #11 Add egg white; beat well.
Step #12 Add milk; beat well.
Step #13 Combine sugar, flour, & salt; add to cheese mixture, beating well.
Step #14 Spoon about 1 1/2 tsps cheese mixture into each phyllo shell.
Step #15 Bake at 350° for 15 mins or until lightly browned.
Step #16 Cool on a wire rack.
Step #17 Top each tart with about 1 1/2 tsps compote.
