Cranberry Phyllo Triangles Recipe

Ingredients
  • 20 sheets phyllo dough
  • 1/2 c butter, melted
  • confectioners' sugar
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1/4 tsp finely shredded orange peel
  • 3 tbsps sugar
  • 2 tbsps raisins
  • 1/2 c sliced fresh or frozen cranberries
  • 2 tbsps sliced pecans

Directions
  • Step #1 In a saucepan, pecans, mix the cranberries, raisins, sugar, honey & orange peel; bring to a boil.
  • Step #2 Reduce heat; simmer, for 5 mins, uncovered, stirring every once in awhile.
  • Step #3 Drain & discard any juice.
  • Step #4 Cool to about room temp.
  • Step #5 Lightly brush one sheet of phyllo with butter; place another sheet of phyllo on top & brush with butter.
  • Step #6 Keep remaining phyllo covered with plastic wrap & a damp towel to prevent drying.
  • Step #7 Cut the two layered sheets into three 14-in.
  • Step #8 x 3-in.
  • Step #9 strips.
  • Step #10 Place a tsp of cranberry filling in lower corner on each strip.
  • Step #11 Fold dough over filling, forming a triangle.
  • Step #12 Fold triangle up, then fold triangle over, forming another triangle.
  • Step #13 Continue folding, like a flag, until you come to the end of the strip.
  • Step #14 Brush end of dough with butter & press onto triangle to seal.
  • Step #15 Turn triangle & brush top this with melted butter.
  • Step #16 Repeat with remaining strips of dough & remaining sheets of phyllo.
  • Step #17 Place triangles on a greased baking sheet.
  • Step #18 Bake at 375 degrees F for 15-17 mins or until golden brown.
  • Step #19 Cool on a wire rack.
  • Step #20 Sprinkle top with confectioners' sugar.
