Pork Pot Stickers Recipe

Ingredients
  • 3 tbsps water
  •  Cooking spray
  • 1 c water
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/3 c sliced green onions (about 2)
  • 8 oz lean ground pork
  • 1 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 1/2 c packaged cabbage-and-carrot coleslaw
  • 1/2 tsp cornstarch
  • 30 gyoza skins
  • 1 tbsp peanut oil

Directions
  • Step #1 Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Step #2 Coat pan with cooking spray.
  • Step #3 Add pork; cook 6 mins or until done, stirring to crumble.
  • Step #4 Add onions, soy sauce, & sesame oil; cook 30 seconds.
  • Step #5 Stir in coleslaw, & cook 30 seconds or until cabbage wilts, stirring frequently.
  • Step #6 Combine 3 tbsps water & cornstarch in a small bowl.
  • Step #7 Add cornstarch mixture to pork mixture; cook 1 min, stirring constantly.
  • Step #8 Remove from heat; cool to about room temp.
  • Step #9 Working with 1 gyoza skin at a time (cover remaining skins to prevent drying), spoon 1 scant tbsp pork mixture into center of each skin.
  • Step #10 Moisten edges of skin with water.
  • Step #11 Fold in half, pinching edges together to seal.
  • Step #12 Place on a baking sheet in a single layer (cover loosely with a towel to prevent drying).
  • Step #13 When all skins are filled, remove towel & cover with plastic wrap; freeze until firm.
  • Step #14 Place in zip-top plastic bags, & freeze for up to 3 months.
  • Step #15 Arrange the frozen pot stickers in a single layer on a baking sheet; cover with plastic wrap, & thaw in refrigerator overnight.
  • Step #16 Heat peanut oil In a large-ish nonstick skillet over med-heat/flame.
  • Step #17 Arrange pot stickers in pan in a single layer; cook 2 mins or until browned on bottom.
  • Step #18 Add 1 c water to pan; cover & cook 5 mins.
  • Step #19 Uncover & cook this until liquid evaporates, about 2 mins.
  • Step #20 Serve as soon as possible.
