Garlic-stuffed Mushrooms Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 c panko or white, unseasoned bread crumbs
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 c heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tsps olive oil
  • 24 large button or cremini mushrooms, stems removed
  • 2 heads garlic, cloves separated & peeled

Directions
  • Step #1 In a small saucepan over low heat/flame, slowly cook garlic & cream until garlic is soft enough to mash with a spoon, about 45 mins.
  • Step #2 (Cream will be reduced & thick.
  • Step #3 ) Remove from heat & mash garlic into cream with a fork, making a rough purée.
  • Step #4 Stir in salt & panko & mix thoroughly.
  • Step #5 Preheat oven to 450°.
  • Step #6 Lay mushroom caps, top side down, on an oiled baking sheet.
  • Step #7 Brush edges with oil & fill centers with garlic cream.
  • Step #8 Bake until starting to brown, about 15 mins.
  • Step #9 Let sit 5 to 10 mins.
  • Step #10 Lift mushrooms from any released liquid & arrange on plates or a platter.
  • Step #11 Sprinkle top with pepper.
