Tuna Nigiri Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 tsp prepared wasabi
  • 8 (1 x 1/2-inch) strips nori (seaweed)
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 (8-oz) ahi tuna fillet
  • 2 c cooked Sushi Rice
  • 1/8 tsp freshly ground black pepper

Directions
  • Step #1 Heat a medium nonstick skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Step #2 Sprinkle top tuna with salt & pepper.
  • Step #3 Add tuna to pan; cook 1 min on each side or until desired degree of doneness.
  • Step #4 Cut tuna into 8 strips & cool.
  • Step #5 Shape 1/4 c rice into a rectangle about the size of 1 tuna strip.
  • Step #6 Place 1 tuna strip across middle joints of fingers, palm side up.
  • Step #7 Spread 1/8 tsp wasabi over tuna strip; top this with shaped rice.
  • Step #8 Close hand & carefully press rice & tuna together.
  • Step #9 Wrap 1 nori strip around center of nigiri, ending underneath rice.
  • Step #10 Repeat with remaining ingredients.
